Chief Executive
James joined SignHealth in 2016 and has worked in the charity sector since 2001, including a variety of roles at Scope and the NSPCC. James is a trustee of the Voluntary Organisations Disability Group. James is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts, Manufactures and Commerce and a Leadership Fellow at the Society of Leadership Fellows at the College of St George at Windsor Castle. James was awarded an OBE for services to deaf people in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours 2022.

Thandi Mtetwa
Director of Finance and Transformation
Thandi joined SignHealth in January 2023; she has over 15 years of experience across a broad range of charities and non-for-profit organisations. At SignHealth she is responsible for strategic development of our finance department and transformation programme. She brings her pragmatic approach to solving problems and vast experience in driving organisational development.

Lucy Warnes
Director of Engagement
Lucy joined SignHealth in September 2022 with over 25 years’ marketing, engagement and fundraising experience in the non-profit sector. She has worked for a wide range of causes including disability, animal welfare and international development. As a deaf BSL user, Lucy brings lived experience as well as professional expertise. At SignHealth, Lucy has strategic responsibility for communications, fundraising and business development. This includes engaging with new and existing audiences as well as developing and growing income from various streams.

Paul Howes
Assistant Director of Governance, Planning and Evidence
Paul joined SignHealth in July 2019 as Assistant Director of Governance, Planning and Evidence. He has over 20 years of working corporately at a senior level in both charities and local government, delivering and implementing complex projects, designing and maintaining performance management and governance systems and managing change successfully. Working with the Chief Executive and Board of Trustees, he leads our governance processes, enabling and empowering the organisation to make good decisions that follow the rules and laws governing charity behaviour and performance.
