Do you have communication needs that affect how you engage with your GP service?

If so, we hope you will join us for an online focus group session for deaf people!

Who will be hosting the focus group?

Healthwatch organisations within South West London (Croydon, Kingston, Merton, Richmond, Sutton, and Wandsworth) with SignHealth.

Your local Healthwatch organisations (who are independent charities with a statutory role) are gathering feedback from people on how GP services have addressed your communication needs by implementing the Accessible Information Standard (AIS).

We will be hosting online focus group sessions where you can share your experiences of GP services. We want to know about your experiences attending appointments, receiving follow-up communication, and other methods of communication with your GP.

Event details

There will be two online focus group sessions:

  • Tuesday 23 July 6-8pm
  • Wednesday 24 July 2-4pm

Please sign up using the form below if you are interested in participating and live in one of the listed areas in South West London. BSL interpreters will be provided.

Once you have completed the focus group, you will be given a £15 shopping voucher for your participation.

Your participation can have a real impact on improving GP services.

What is the Accessible Information Standard?

The Standard sets out how health and care services must meet the communication and information needs of people with certain disabilities or conditions such as neurodiversity, sensory loss, certain neurological conditions, and/or learning disability. A great 5-minute video that explains the Standard is available here: https://youtu.be/ZJngMo37WvA.
